THE PRAXIS CONTINUUM (cover art and synopsis)

Rian

Where ever you stand is your true place.  Either South, North, East of West.  All is the same.  For the mind that is clear, it always finds the anew.  Rian, caught between a past which is slowly eroding and futures that have yet to occur.  He looks over the rejection letters of the last few months.  With out any care or interest, he maintains what could be the last days.  But only as moments in time.  Walking through streets of a city, overbuilt construction, poor design and faded aspirations of wealth.  When between the fabrications of concrete and steel structures and their cheapened array.  Are the alleyways, the dark and neglected, that offer a reprieve.  As it is the split between the two worlds.  His world and the one viewed in all of its dissonance.    No longer will he enter or appease, but rather accept what one has and in that stillness.  He waits.

The Universe, Sex and its attribution of Parallel Worlds.

Jess Alexia, a inner city clinical psychologist with her own personal issues.  A casual user of opiates and pharmaceutical drugs who has a predilection for hyper-sexual behavior, whilst managing her own visions and hallucinatory dream states.  She has been asked by one of her lovers, a Doctor at the local hospital, to assess a young woman that has been admitted into the emergency department unconscious.  Only to awaken from a coma with amnesia, vivid with strange memories that may not be hers.   As the aging astrophysicist Professor Dan Koso has grown tired of the fast paced, and in his opinion, sloppy research in a digital age of scientific reporting.  He is about to release his final paper on Parallel Worlds and its other Earths.  A theory of parallel Universes which are connected along a horizontal bridge, viewed as an encroachment within minutes of each other despite the elusiveness of their existence.   Alexia upon her initial consultation with the young woman, sees a connection between the patient's mis-attributed memories brought on from an unknown type of amnesia, to a possible connection to Professor Koso's theory.  Which paradoxically may also reveal Alexia's indifference to her own unique psychology.

Born Fatale is the Femme

Dylan Forster an ex-Dallas, Texas police detective.  Now retired, runs his own consulting and security technology company in San Fransisco.  For many years he has collated a hobby file in relation to an infamous Femme Fatale, a person that may or may not exist.  Her name FIEKE WOLF.  When an old colleague from Dallas informs him of an incident that occurred a year ago which fits the description of the woman Forster has been studying.  He reopens his file of Fieke Wolf.  As international trade markets shift through their ebbs and flows.  Corruption and discord manifests in its desire for power.  Forster feels the pressure of living in a world where change seems constant.  Whilst his fascination for this Femme Fatale grows.  Upon meeting a mysterious stranger one Autumn day, who informs him that the world Fieke resides in, coincidences just don't happen. They collide.  And in Fieke's world, within her sociopath traits, is where she reigns.  As survival is all she has ever known.
