Oil is unable to break the $80 price resistance, trades in a narrow range between $78 and $79. Two merchant sailors have been killed on the Red Sea, since the Yemen Houthis began (November 2023) their attacks of commercial shipping. Saudi Arabia hikes the oil price for Asian buyers. Oil is lightly bid over $79.

Oil is closing in on its $80 psychological price level, as the Yemen Houthis target and sink a U.K. owned freight ship the Rubymar off the Gulf of Arden. The ship could be sinking. No crew fatalities. Oil may drive higher above $80 on a U.S. and U.K. military response.
