Asteroid 2019 (ok): "City Killer". Just missed the Earth.

On July the 25th 2019, an asteroid (2019ok) considered to be a 'city killer' estimated between 57 to 130 meters wide, came with 73,000 kilometers close to the Earth.   With an explosive impact power speculated at 10 Megatons. That is too close.  What is more alarming, is that the asteroid was missed and only detected after the very close flyby between the Earth and the moon.  This is a wake up call, particularly in relation to the egocentric space race of putting pieces of orbital 'junk' in to lower and upper atmospheres so that billionaire financiers can assist in faster (in theory) social media downloads for the users.   Ad revenue galore. With already one famed billionaire's inetnet (Starlink) micro satellites failing one by one. Noting in replies, defending the space 'junk' race, to his critics, that he believes that space telescopes should be orbital rather as ground based detectors.  With the entrepreneurial tediums and their imprints of 'selling' dreams cast its shadow over the masses, the science of detection of killer asteroids should take front and center.  Ground based telescopes detect asteroids more precisely via the sun's reflection as a meteorite begins to travel within the orbit within the solar system, however this particular asteroid was traveling faster within an elliptical orbit, to which the actually sun assisted as a blind-spot, the other issues is its size.  Under 140 meters is where most asteroids remain undetected due to the limited Earth based telescope infrastructure in detecting an object that may be on a trajectory path to the Earth. 

This is not an issue of funding per se or a rethinking of what human space exploitation entails, but a contemplation of what is our place in the Cosmos, which, philosophical, may be irrelevant to the structure of Space Time. We assume the deterministic and physical as way of signifying our purpose as human beings. Yet, the Universe, as a functioning system of chaotic interactions has little interest or care in any conscious aspect of our existence.  If we are to bridge the duality between human life and a indifference of the Universe, that we have evolved from, it would be to master our selfs and hence the natural world.  To become one within and outside, to conquer reality and its predicaments. To survive and live.
