Lebbeus Woods passed away in October 2012 New York, he would be seen as one of the most original and prolific experimental architects, with a massive treasure trove of ideas, drawings, scaled models and concepts.  That he devised as conceptualized designs within the discipline of architecture.  He was only able to complete one project of his career, that was posthumously finished after his death in 2013, however Woods oversaw the beginnings of his structural design with fellow architect and professor Christoper Kumpucsh.  Built within Stephen Holls designed mixed-use apartment block in Chengdu, China.

After four decades of writing and creating the schematics of his architectural ideas, he was able, before his death, to have one of his projects manifest into a reality: “The Light Pavilion”.  Woods's first constructed project, built within the structural design that in all retrospection holds a standard in building aesthetics; an insert into the facade of the building, further expressing Woods idea of the entanglement of both space and time within the spatial, which was the mainstay of his concepts.  It is the continuing of asking questions, that may have not have immediate answers.  That architects, designers, as a purpose is to support our plight in developing newer possibilities of expanding the concepts of space and time within the infinite Universe.  Which, in turn may assist the humanity to configure newer paradigms or maybe a new reality.  All possibilities manifest from the idea, the dream.  Very much like Woods homage to Albert Einstein with his 'Einstein Tomb', aware, that the greatest physicist of all time dreamed the bases of General Relativity, the speed of light.  Helping us understand the purpose of time and its place in the Comsos. More importantly it gave rise to the capacity that human beings, even with our nightmares we can dream, beyond fame and ego is the liberation of the self.  Through knowledge and our thoughts. To know we are something more than just a deterministic event.

We are the creator of worlds.  And it begins and ends with us.
