She
was stopped on the side of the road, at night, after he flagged her
down, claiming his car had broken down and his cell phone had lost
it's signal and ran out of battery power. Why this woman? Why is he
dressed like that, business like, a suit worn at night in the
country? Coincidence? He stalked this woman in the city, figured
out her movements, something caught his eye about his victim, to him
a perfect victim. His face? I still can't see it, that mask. It
was too late for her. Fear immobilized her, froze her, she was
paralyzed by her own dread. He didn't have to do much. A weapon,
baton, he slams it across the side of her head. Then drags her into
the car. That's all I could see, the psychic imprint fades as he
leaves the scene. Brooklyn, was where the body had been placed,
methodically, in way so it is found. CCTV didn't pick up anything,
usual cars, traffic, some homeless people, a guy pushing a trolley
with his worldly belongings in it. The police, interviewed him. But
they missed the duplicate, there were two 'homeless' people in that
footage, one was our perpetrator, masquerading as a homeless man,
dressed almost identically to the other one, the real homeless
person. The police where sloppy, too focused on the forensic,
transfixed on the routine, they missed the other man – pushing the
trolley. They thought it was the same person. Inside that trolley
was the body. A dead and brutalized Petra Simone. His face, there, a
glimpse, under that hooded top. That is all I could see from the
psychic imprints from those two crime scenes. But that is all I
needed.
