Chris Leba continues on with his unique take on the tough, post hippie, gritty urban 1970s New York City looks.  Imploring  the nostalgic romanticism, which I feel is fine particularly when a collection decrees with an ease and style that is benchmarked by Bohemian Chic, second hand stores and the residual of early counter culture looks.  To which Leba has been able to add his own impression via the R13 in its sassy, contemporary overture to bygone eras.  But, a good portion of this collection owes itself aesthetically to when four young men from England descended on the East Coast of America, more so New York – this was 'The Clash's' infamous 1981 Broadway at Bonds Casino shows.  A prelude to what crafted the stylized 1982 album Combat Rock.

And this is Leba for R13 Pre Fall 2020 collection, setting forth a punk, boho chic and military styles in a patchwork of concepts, that he has been able to fuse very well together. Laying down a distinction for R13, thus showing the importance in maintaining a well structured theme and not deviating away from the creative path in chasing trends.  Conjoining aspects of past to present that in turn, when crafted skillfully, it can made as your own - while overseen with a continued practice to which Leba has offered for his brand name.

Animal prints, trench coats and camouflage, tough, functional and sexy with a poignancy that feels like Leb's focused impression of defining R13 style.  There is the mix and match of plaid, high waisted suit pants and male styles, all set onto the female model, showing the fluidity of mixing masculine styles and imprinted them as the feminine; which rarely works the other way around.  It is a women's collection that holds a relevance to rugged city looks, whilst sill offering moments of charm, seen with floral dresses inter-layered with tiger prints and camouflage.  Also noted are the embellished style pattern work on blazers, with the completion of the collection focused on denim, that once again pays homage to the past resonance of American popular culture.
