A.Glass Visual merchandising back story (2019).

This was one of my Visual Merchandising jobs in 2019, yes pre the COVID pandemic which threw our society into turmoil, only to emerge further down into a tumultuous spiral. What inspired this VR job is the book at the front of the display, which is of the late J.G. Ballard hyperreal novel "Super Cannes" of the wealthy elite and their wayward young adult 'children' living within a Utopia in the hills above Cannes called 'Eden-Olympia', which held a similar theme to Cocaine Nights.  Where over ambition, and that desire of pragmatic consumption, superficially crashes from their lofty highs.  Suffice to say, I wanted to portray that opportunistic and material excess, which do indeed mask the deeper and more taboo of hedonism.  That lies beneath a society, obsessed with structure and stability.
