Jenes taps the link, as a
website appears with a single input box, she quickly typed in her ID
code Four Six One Nine. Seconds later, her phone chimes with a
received SMS. Lifting the phone up, she checks the recent SMS
messages.
“I need reading glasses,”
she chuckles to herself, trying to focus on the string of numbers and
letters. Sitting down at her desk. She
opens the second email, with the link. Tapping on the link with her
left index finger as another input box appears. Holding the phone in
her right hand she types in 6h3k04wr712XL.
A
two page document then appears.

Jenes
checks over the second document, which outlines in bullet points, the
preparation and expected outcome of the assignment.
Walking
back to the kitchen area, turning off the stove, she carefully pours
the hot water into the French press, setting the pot onto the sink.
Gently attaching the plunger, with her left palm, slowly pressing the
water down onto the compressed coffee. Eyeing a stylized chrome
coffee mug to her right side, she places it in front of her, lifting
the press with her right hand. She pours the coffee. “That smells
so fucking good, but…” Opening the fringe behind her, taking
out the milk she pours a portion onto the black coffee. Lifting the
mug with her right hand, she walks toward the balcony. “...I am
looking forward to a croissant at the cafe and…” Jenes sits down
on a small outdoor chair facing East, she sips from the coffee
staring at a bright planet, second to
our
Sun. “...Another coffee.” Her eyes stay fixed on the illuminated
spec, elevated slightly above the horizon
“Venus,
the Hell planet,” she says to herself with a smile, placing the
mug of coffee down onto the edge of the balcony wall. Jenes thinks
of her mother, before she was born.

“Another late one? Huh?”
A formally dressed man says, as he passes Christina Jenes, who is
sitting at a secretarial desk at the entrance of the plush, yet
minimalist foyer of the investment and securities firm Adroit Orman &
Co.
Christina, with her dark
brown curly hair tied back into a pony tail, stands with her above
the knee pinstripe skirt and cream color tucked into the waist. She
leans down, with the man
glancing at her plunge neckline, as she lifts a sheet of paper from
her desk. Walking side by side as the man pauses where two large
leather couches face each other, between a stylized marble coffee
table. In front of the floor to ceiling windows, overlooking East
River.
“There’s been a big
sell off on the gold price,…” She passes the man, bending down
and straightening out the magazines. “...Since, the Argentinian
thing.”
“Yeah, the default that
wasn’t a default,” the
man replies, as he sits down, lifting up one of the magazines.
“Do you want a coffee?”
Christina asks.
“No, I’m good. Thanks.
But….” He looks up at Christina with a smile. “...I wouldn't
mind a drink. Later on?”
“Maybe…” Christina
insinuates with a smile. She then makes her way to the floor trading
areas. “...I’ll let Steven know you’re waiting.”
The man holds up one of the
magazines. Looking at its title:
“PENTHOUSE.
September 1984”
Christina returns, walking
back to her desk. “He’ll be out shortly.”
The man nods, briefly
looking at Christina, as he continues to flick through the pages of
the magazine.
