"Knight of wands", "2 of disks. Change" and "1. Ace of cups". THOTH TAROT CARD READING/s. These cards were pulled as a triple reading. The Order of the reading is from left to right.

I pulled this one ("Knight of Wands") this morning (December 5th, 2023), after shuffling the full deck of Aleister Crowley's infamous Thoth Tarot cards.  Which if one is aware of the late English occultist very detailed and relatively complex occultism theory, that is a combination of medieval Hermeticism, Jewish Quabbala, esoteric Taoism and Egyptian mythology.  Crowley's Thoth Tarot is very unique, with incredibly rich and detailed art by Lady Frieda Harris (d1962) in 1940's surrealistic, geometrical and cubist styles. So, the meaning for each card are a clever mix between the said occultist themes.  And the above card, "Knight of Wands" if I was to summarize from the explanation for the card, represents the impulsiveness of the male, particularly in war as a brutal warrior, with cruel and bigoted intentions.  The actual Tarot cards were developed at the onset of World War Two, so some of the meanings may be indicative of the global events that were transpiring at the time.  I would read this card as a warning to rash decisions, and be careful with fire, lean to cultivate its ferocity and tame it or be engulfed by it.

The Knight of Wands card, maybe indicative of our current times.  Since nations are now resulting to Total War theory and 'forever' wars.  We never learn.  Do we?

"2 of Disks.  Change."

One of Aleister Crowley's (d1947) more serene and simplistic cards, which has a straightforward and purposeful message.  Although, structured around Crowley's, at times, Far Right leaning conservative beliefs that "Change" supports "Stability", when instability actually creates change. One must be reminded, Crowley passed away a decade before the extremely important counterculture movements of the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s began: Beatniks, Hippies, human/animal rights, environmental movements, sexual liberation and the freedom to choose your lifestyle, mixed with hedonism, which could be argued was akin (without being overly conscious of it) to the spiritual practises of sexual meditation and antinomianism.  However, Crowley was part of the 1900s 'New Age' movements, which had affiliations with Proto-Fascism of the 1920s, and forumulated aspects of early conspiracy theories that an unstructured society is a threat to human progression.   So, it is interesting to view the "2 of Disks.  Change." as a hippie-esque type card, however it would be more attuned to 1960s styled occultism, of fusing the Eastern and Western esoteric, into a sibyl inspired reading.  From the Book of Thoth, Crowley offers clues to the card, that it represents Earthy wisdom, reflecting the 2 of the Chokmah (Tree of Life) from the Qabalah.  Which in turn tries to hold its balance between the stability of Jupiter, the upper part of the card, and the lower Capricornus, Pan the unruly horned goat.  Also note, Crowley's interest in Chinese Taoism, with the Yin and Yang symbols, intertwined with a crowned snake in its number 8 configuration, consuming its own tail, indicating the infinity of the Universe.

Reading:

Let chaos bring in change, finding order through meditation.  Above is the stability of the planet Jupiter, the behemoth and its gravity, protecting the wisdom of the Earthly realm, from cosmic destruction; the remnants of dead planets.  Pan and the Capricornus maybe the god of the wild, but its mistrief offers a reprieve from the mundane, be it that stability is the opposite of change.  And change is what we require.  Balance is the harmony of the infinite, the number 8.  Yet, we are of the finite, so change will originate from the self, and will end with the self.

"1.  Ace of Cups"  is Aleister Crowley touching upon Tantric Hindu, more so Kamakala practices, of the sexual union of male and female sexual discharge, seen as the sacred transmission of creation.   To which Crowley has attached his own Sex "Magick" rituals (a coined that he used) to the card, by adding wine and/or blood to the 'water' in the context of ceremonial usage.  In that sense, in relation to "blood", Crowley refers to the card as a symbolism of the "Yoni" be it the Sanskrit/Hindu/Tantric interpretation of the vagina, hence menstrual blood used in Kamakala Yantra rituals.  As Crowley explains the use of the card, "At the base of the Cup is the Moon, for it is the virtue of this card to conceive and to produce the second form of its Nature."

Reading:

The Yoni is sacred, it is the opening of existence, and will close it self for meditation.  Both must be seen as divine, and each action must be respected.  The masculine is also feminine, and the feminine is also masculine, both have the manifestation of the Yoni, beginning at the base of the pelvis, and axled down to the perineum. For the male, it has been hidden by manifestation of biology, but it can be awaken.  The female can assist, by teaching that the fluid is internal, the pleasure of life are temporary, but the flow continues on.  Know this flow, saviour this fluid, but only in ritual.  Elevate bliss to transcendance, and then release.  But, never take it for granted.
