Excerpt: CHRISTOPHER KANE - RESORT 2024

 

"...However, Kane's Resort 2024 styles hold a more serious tone and daren't I say darker array, as opposed to his prior collections.  The 1960's open love and utopian aesthetics from past runways shows, have been replaced with a sleeker and more defined stylizations with his recent lookbooks.  Which maybe indicative of a world facing a tumultuous shift after the COVID pandemic, and this visual reflection has been seen with other designers that have embarked on delivering a somber impression with their 2023 and 2024 collections.    

Dreamlike and ethereal.  From slip dresses, miniskirts and draped asymmetrical hemlines, mixed with the Kane's lingerie outwear styles.  His latest collection offers a glimpse into reverie, which could also be for the one viewing.  An attainment of a time time, although long gone, is still tantalizing in its perspective.  As that desire for a renewed counterculture, which remains chimeric in its possibility.  Kane's visionally expression, for the time being will have to be suffice.
