Excerpt: Courrèges Resort 2026 - Lookbook


"Nicolas Di Felice fascination with the hyperreal remains, that is of the digital world, more so the social media feedback loops, seen specifically at his Fall 2023 Courrèges showing, with models staring intensely at the phones as they walk in and around a rectangular runway.  As the fashion industry awaits Demna Gvasalia to reveal his Gucci 'Resort' collection on the 15th, May 2025, the Georgian antithesis fashion designer of Balenciaga Fame, was one of the first who has been experimenting over the years with the digital hyperreal, playing around on the idea or transfixation of how the mobile phone, aesthetically, and socially is reshaping our perception of reality.  

And Di Felice has been reworking the late André Courrèges futurist imprint and Courrèges distinctly modernist 1950 boxy styles, since he began his creative direction for the brand in 2020.  Inserting his love for 1970s carnal, as a romanticized reflection of the counterculture years which followed Courrèges futurism, and the collapse of modernism,  which went on well into the 1980s.   Yet, Di Felice's romanticism of 70s amatory has mostly overshadowed Courrèges space faring inspired, sleekness of the future-that-never-was, and this can very much be seen with his Resort 2026 collection..."
