Excerpt: David Koma. Spring/Summer 2026 lookbook - London Fashion Week.

"Are we all gearing up for a renewed counterculture decade?  As we are surly overdue for one, when literally most western countries are moving towards the Far Right, with America staring at Fascism under Donald Trump, with restrictions on freedom of expression are already being implemented, and what better fuck you to the structuralist establishment of authoritarianism, is a sexul liberation.  Yes, we can reclaim it back after two decades of digital taboo via the misogynistic porn market, or at least shrink it down (excuse the pun) and send sexulalization into the dusbin of history.  Is David Koma on the forefront of an amatory revolution, so we can all go back to the heyday of the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s hedonism?  We can only hope.

And yet, for his Spring/Summer 2026 collection, Koma offered a clue, which could align with the above question, by saying, "There had to be a sense of ease and a freedom of movement in the clothes that felt harmonious with the surroundings...The contrast shouldn’t be overpowering, but dramatic."  And that is exactly what the counterculture years of the late 20th Century heardled in, way before the digital world warped out our psyche, by aligning the deluded mythos, of seeing ourselves as a product, whilst attuned to ego driven narcissism, while staring at a phone screen..."
