From the Chiasmus Archive: Gareth Pugh. Spring Fashion Week 2016 – London. (October 5th 2015)

Gareth Pugh is the quintessential avant-garde designer. While others, such as Rick Owen’s, maintain a solid theme within the risqué of fashion design. Pugh is still searching for that defining moment. His 2016 Spring collection, despite it being billed as a retrospective of 1970s SoHo Disco styled theme, does reflect a darker side, the models with their grotesque dolled up masks are more akin to a wax museum, serial killer trophy collection.  The clothes have an average appeal as a fitted and displayed backdrop for the bizarre mannequin looks.
