Novel-coronoavirus (nCoV) - China

(My print of Sun Simiao 孙思邈 (Sūn Sīmiǎo D682). The great Chinese physician. He was noted for Implementing detailed recipes of traditional Chinese medicine and compiling a doctrine of medical ethics known as "Dayi Heart")

With the recent viral outbreak in China of a new novel-coronoavirus (nCoV), which is a deadly respiratory pathogen easy spread by human to human contact, in respect to the families who have lost loved ones, it is important to note that the Chinese government has failed on many occasions to clamp down on exotic animal trade and the superstitions medicinal fallacies, which very much deviate away from traditional Chinese medicines.  The ground Zero of the outbreak was a market area in the City of Wuhan of the Hubei province which at this point, Virologists have pinpointed fruits bats to be the origin of this new virus – as was the SARS outbreak in 2003.  The issue relates to viruses that live within the bats, which are deadly to humans and can cross over to farm animals.  The infection begins buy digesting animal produce with the virus, which quickly absorbs into the human biology and since this virus is new to our immune system, it is unable to cope with its attack of healthy host cells and because there is no vaccine available to combat the disease.  Its initial outbreak can easy stem into a deadly pandemic.

And the Chinese government response has been slow, with over five million people leaving the City after the lock down had been declared, which, due to the lack of transparency with it warnings, would further induce many to move throughout the country after the state of an emergency declared.  The fear is that because of the tardiness, unlike SARS which was mostly contained in the cities, the coronavirus will spread throughout the rural areas.  Also, there are reports that the first signs of the new coronoavirus occurred in December 2019, with the official date of the disease spreading within the Hunei province was on the 20th January 2020, when infection occurred in both Thailand and Japan days before the official Chinese government date.  It was only when the many citizens of the Wuhan were able to, via social media, voice their frustration that the pathogen had started earlier and that officials were aware of its rapid progress.
