“As a sales person?” The woman replies, writing down some notes onto a sheet within the folder. She then looks up at Diarmid.
“Maybe...Have a look at this…” Diarmid says, reaching into her top with her right index finger and thumb, lifting out the necklace with the inverted pyramid shaped Blood Stone. The woman leans forward.
“Wow, that’s beautiful. What sort of stone is it?”
“A Blood Stone…” Diarmid lifts the necklace over her head and hands it to the woman. She looks at the chain and its black pyramidal shape with streaks of red through it. She hands it back to Diarmid, who places it back around her neck, allowing it to fall between her cleavage. “...The chain is rhodium plated. It’s old, I think over Fifty years old, maybe older. Not too sure. A close friend of mine gave it to me.”
“It’s so nice...” the woman replies, as the conversation has now almost completely been steered away from Diarmid’s job obligations with the government appointed provider. “...You know, I feel that you are a people person. You are really easy to talk too.”
“Yeah, I prefer talking to people. It feels these days, once the digital systems become more advanced that we may lose that interaction,” Diarmid replies smiling, as the woman also smiles. Diarmid studies the young woman's eyes, aware that she is utilizing colored contact lenses to make her irises appear bluer.
“Well there are some roles…” The woman pauses, briefly looking at her computer screen. “...That could be appropriate for you. Can I send off your resume to those companies?”
“You may.”
