"10 of cups. Satiety", "XIII Death", "1 Ace of swords". THOTH TAROT CARD READING/s. These cards were pulled as a triple reading. The Order of the reading is from left to right.


"10 of cups. Satiety" is one of Aleister Crowley's more balanced and oracle like cards, and a warning of destabilisation, in Crowley's eyes the planet Mars in Pisces which rules over this card, metaphorically, is seen as a "gross, violent and disruptive force", which he is actually correct. Mars is a radiation filled dead planet, with little or no atmosphere and is constantly pounded by asteroids, massive dust storms and basically nothing can live on that planet. Why would we want to visit it? The balance of the card is the Water, pouring through the Ten of cups, which is to pacify the Mars influence, also equating to Crowley's fixation with the Tree of Life ala the Qabalah.

Reading:

Meditate on the Ten, the first decade of years lived, allow the water to pour through. Be nourished by its flow, as it creates the balance, for the living organism. The bases of elixir and alchemy, the fluid of life. Yes, Mars is a warning, a dead planet, as it moves over Pisces, ravaged by radiation, its atmosphere is thin, unlivable, pounded by the asteroids of chaos. A reminder of destruction and turmoil. Earth is beautiful. It is our home, our lifeforce. Protect it.

"XIII Death" reading:

Do not fear Death, for it is the great cleanser, the great educator.  Life is short, so do not squander it.  What all, must be, all must return.  When the body breaks down, and the skeleton remains, there is very little difference between the female and male.  They are only material illusions of the self.  You are nothing.  Remember this, and repeat.  You are nothing.  So, be free from the burden of life, and free from the spectra of death.  Yet, hold true to the symbolism of rebirth.  The scorpion shows its defiance to the end, it lives within its perpetual aggression, and when faced with aversion, it kills itself.  Always poised, without a qualm, for self annihilation.  The fish swims free, aware and unaware that its time could be near.  The snake, is rebirth personified, the sliverer between worlds, detached from life and death. And one has to admire its gelid resolve.  Yet it is the Eagle, the flies above above the Earthly realm.  Eyes afixed, looking for prey, it misses nothing, but in its chaotic irony, even the most shrewd and wise must face the end.  See, the scythe of Death as it cuts through life, it also creates bubbles, renewing life.  A dying God is also a dying Star, yet it is the necessity for renewal.  Light is eternal, its photons travel for all eternity through the cosmos.  Death releases the spirit, and this spirit in the end, must be released.  But, for now live.  Live how you wish, as you are nothing, you will rejoice in this day.  And be reborn in the moment.

"1 Ace of Swords"

Aleister Crowley's (d1947) more rambling interpretation for the Thoth Tarot card which represents the 'Root of Air', where Crowley attaches mostly the Qabalah explanation in describing the sacredness of wind/air, quoting it as an "all-embracing, all-wandering, all-penetrating, all-consuming"  And in his spiritual interpretation of air and wind, Crowley demotes the element of air as a secondary directive to Fire and the Earth.  When in fact, air and wind, are powerful cleansing meditations, particularly when a spirit is needed to be released.  And by walking into the wind, it is one of the most intense ways of confronting and being purifying by the natural construct.  The wind, particularly in Middle Eastern nomadic tribes, was worshipped as an entity that either brought luck or misfortune.  In Gnostic and Christian literature the wind and air, it is Satan, that controls the power of air, residing on the Earthly realm.  The Sword pointing upward, also holds a defiance towards the omnipotent and that burden of nature brought the human condition.  That we are indeed are own light bearers.  As Crowley does offer the Phallus as a potent symbol of strength, to which the masculine as an entity, when trained through the male and female mortal, may weld with discipline be it a symbolism of liberation.   The light, through darkness albeit temporary, could be an interpretation of the orgasmic bliss towards radiance.  That I may transcend, and see through the darkness.  From The Book of Thoth, "Sends forth a blaze of Light, dispersing the dark clouds of the Mind". 

Reading:

It is the wind, the power of air, the most cleansing comes from the South West, which carries that scent of self awareness, the light of phallic and its climax piercing through the confusion.  For you may view this light, and let it ascend into the clouds.  Be those details, like the cat, which only requires a very slight  illumination to see through the darkness.  And yet, it does not miss any angles.  So let the wind pass through you, and be purified, breath the air, take in the ages and exhale, release the wandering spirits, the relestess ghosts.  And mediate within the chaos.
