Natasha Zinko . Spring 2027 - London Fashion Week.
Natasha Zinko's reworking of her postmodern prose, and its aesthetical overtures have been maintained for her Spring 2027 collection, and like Zinko's East European compadres the Gsvalia brothers (Demna and Guram) of Vetements and Balenciaga fame, Demna is now with Gucci, Zinko, who is Ukraning born, and intrinsically aware, as mentioned, from her postmodern and avant garde, post Communist East Europe sentiment, on how ridiculously self absorbed the West is under capitalism and the digital shit fest we are all entrapped in within the 21st Century. Am I Correct?
Her latest collection, according to her press notes, is themed around that overt utilization and obsession with feigned celebritydom in our modern era, where every nobody in the world has created their own "omniopticon", borrowing from the late postmodern philosopher Michel Foucault's panopticon , and updated by Professor Richard Doyle, to which Zinko has also been inspired, and we are on trapped by the expectation that we have oceans of digital audiences watching us, and vise versa, when in reality are all but duplicated ghosts. That, and we have all willingly provided our digital footprints to the Far Right digital moguls like Elon Musk and Peter Thiel, within their attempt to algorithmically change society into their autocrat controlled, technocratic Utopia. Is Zinko also subtly implying that we, the human race, are contributing to this addicted feedback loop of vain expectations, via a digital interface; our own worst enemies?
And like the Gsvaia brothers, the modern, beautifully grotesque, or surgically defined human, as an aesthetical driven narcissist, where the mirror is a 7" phone screen, adding a plethora useless data to the masses of data-centre across the landscape, maybe in this end, there is no beginning, nor an evolution, just a mirrored decay, via surgical enhancements, illusionary expectations, and psychosocial collapse under global fascism. Bless the 1970s Sci-Fi/speculative fiction writers that saw this coming, and bless Zinko's aesthetics, and her designer prowess, for allowing her runway shows to portray the exposé.
