Excerpt: KALAS (A.Glass 2020)

 

"Kim Liana looks over her reflection from the bathroom mirror.   She smiles, with her right index finger lifting up her top lip.   “Need some more filler...” she says to herself referring to the injectable dermal that she gets every six months for her lips.  Liana also checks her gums. “...and I'm fucking anemic!”   She says, shaking her head noticing how white her gums have become.  “...Gotta get some Iron tablets and Vitamin D...”   Liana, sniffs as she feels her nose begin to run.   Leaning across, she pulls off several sheets of toilet paper from the handle.   Lifting them up, blowing into the thin paper, wiping away the mucous that is left, she throws it into the toilet bowl.   “...What to do?   Alright, first thing first, shopping...”   Liana looks down at her right ankle, noticing the spot of redness between her leg and ankle, where she has shot up the heroin.   “...And I need some more alcohol wipes.”
