"Well the results are back from the Magnetic Resonance Imaging…" The specialist Doctor points to a computer image of Issy Ainslee's brain showing detailed images of the frontal and parietal and occipital lobes. He then turns to Ainslee who is looking over the images of her brain. "...So, the frontal and parietal look fine, which you would expect if the symptoms, that you have describe related to more of a visual experience. It is the occipital lobe that shows high, although not alarming, degrees of activity that relates to visual aspects of flashing lights."
Ainslee leans forward. "As in on and off?"
"More so a pulse, with shimmer lines, a blurred at times colorless experience."
"No, mine as I described earlier, is more of a white flash that prolongs,..." She leans back folding her legs over, pushing her short skirt down. "...and I didn't disclose to you prior to the MRI, after sex...after an orgasm."
The specialist, also leans back into his chair, taking off his glasses. "A bright light?"
"Yes, totally colorless, just white."
"Certainly something I have never heard before. So after orgasm?"
"While having an orgasm and the moments after."
"And..." he lifts up the sheet of paper that describes Ainslee's experience." "...it lasts for fifteen seconds."
"A guess, maybe ten to fifteen. The first time it happened, and it's only happened twice, I was very scared. The second time, I wasn't, in fact...This might sound explicit, made it more intense. Also, I will add that it has only occurred with a partner. No solo visions, so to speak.""
"The lovemaking?"
"Yes"
The doctor looks at the images again, staring at the occipital lobe that shows extended brain activity.
"There could be a connection with the optical nerve, possibly a nervous system reaction...I don't want to guess. Did you have a headache after the visions?"
"No, there is no pain at all."
"Like I said, these are truly unique symptoms to a condition, that has all the signs of a seizure, yet the origin of its brain activation is something that I have never encountered before, what I do recommend is that we do further tests, possibly looking at the optic nerve and tract leading into the brain. But, what is seen here, even though if you are prone to a seizure, this region..." He points to the occipital lobe. "...should be far more active. But it isn't, it is certainly more charged, and I mean within the context of brain electrical activity, but remains steady. A slight mystery here. I'll organize a referral to a neuroscientist, who specializes in optical nerves."
Ainslee looks at her wristwatch, seeing that she has a meeting in an hour. She then stands.
"I'm not as bothered by it, like I was before...No need for a referral."
"I do recommend," the doctor replies, as he also stands.
"It's fine...I have a meeting today. If I change my mind?"
"Of course"
Ainslee smiles and quickly walks towards the door, opening it she checks her cellphone. She then makes her way to the elevator, tapping repeatedly the ground floor button. The lift doors open as she steps into the elevator, still staring at her cellphone. Ainslee brings up a news report that has just been sent to her.
"The UN security council has just passed tough newer sanctions on North Korea, the leader of North Korea has vowed that this will only expedite their nuclear missile program. The sanctions, which have been reluctantly agreed by China, who say they will bear the brunt of the tougher stance on North Korea, as, from their viewpoint will effect the lucrative trade between China and the reclusive nuclear armed neighbor."
