Reading: "Arktalus" from Evenfall of the Helical (A.Glass 2022)

“Ah yes, the great End Time war, humanity at its most marvelous of achievements, nuclear weapons...” Professor Eptson looks down at the documents again. “...I can help you with this study Master Zelac.”

“Thank you,” Zelac replies as he stands, to which the Professor remains seated, bound at the ankles, he looks at up Zelac.

“Do you dream much Master Zelac?...”

Zelac doesn't respond, instead he stares at the Professor.

“...You were in the military. A special forces unit. Before you became a Dius Master. I will help you with your quest in understanding these cosmic anomalies, but as a trade, you must tell me about that mission. Your last assignment.”

“Are you trying to analyze me Professor Eptson?” Zelac replies.

“Physics is everywhere and the human mind is no different. Yet, the physical presence of the Universe is cold and unyielding in its secrets and mysteries. The consciousness is a wounded entity, overly aware of its own suffering. You are a Dius Master, so you are aware of this...” The Professor looks around the darkened and cold interior of the meeting area within this High Security Correctional Facility. “...Maybe it’s not guided by physics alone, it could be something else. I am just interested in your past. That's all. Still, it would be a returned courtesy, would it not?”

Master Zelac exhales, turning his back on the Professor as a door lights up behind where he was sitting. He turns briefly looking at the Professor.

“I'll send you a data-log of that mission. Which I wrote myself.”

Zelac walks away towards the exit.
