Sunspot AR3712 is ready to blow.  And it is directly facing the Earth.  Maybe we'll see the masses of auroras in similar to May's Solar Storm, when Sunspot AR3664 blew up.  Or, maybe it'll also knock out the electrical grids, cause havoc to satellites and cause mobile phones to go dead.

EarthSky.com has a scale of how huge AR3712 actually is, in comparison to the Earth.  It very much puts things into perspective.   The sunspot is now directly facing our pale blue dot.

Sunspot AR3712 is Eight times the size of Earth.  And is now facing the Earth.  It can produce X-Class solar flares.  The Carrington event of 1859, was a X-Class solar flare that yielded the explosive power of 10 Billion tons of TNT.  At its time, it caused severe damage to telegraphic communication.
