"No other brand sums up that quintessential 1970s bohemian chic as the iconic French brand Chloé, with German born Chemena Kamali now its creative director, replacing Gabriela Hearst in 2023, Kamali has gently redefined Chloé back to its 70s heyday, skipping the late Karl Lagerfeld's playful 1980s Chloé, and opting for the sultry, liberated femininity that the epicurean 1970s offered back, after the1960s hippies petered out. And with gusto, we are granted a snapshot via Kamali's current tenure of the said styles.
Can we romanticise about an era, that really was about freedom?
