"Jasmin Larian Hekmat's Cult Gaia is one of those emerging fashion brands which is appears as a hidden secret, albeit not intentionally, with only eight lookbooks in, and one runway show under her wing. The sincerity and devotion that Hekmat has to Cult Gaia is obviously evident, seen within her stylizations to date, and the Cult Gaia measured dose of escapism, very much crafting a niche aesthetic for the brand name. In a similarity to Chelsea Hansford's Simon Miller, being that mid to late 1970s and 1980s imprint of open and relaxed styles. With a refreshing look of past impressions, yet one has to be careful not to overly disturb the past and its resonation. To which both designers have been able to achieve this.
And I feel Hekmat homage to the 70s and 80s epicurism which replaced the hippies of the 1960s, yet incorporated the liberating aspects of sexuality right into the 1980s, is measured to say the least. Although prima facie in its exposé, one cannot deny via the Cult Gaia collections as a simmering desire to reinvigorate that Cold War carnal of 60 years ago. It was sex and the threat of thermonuclear war, in all of its emanating glow. Hekmat's Resort 2025 collection offers that paradoxical escape from our current tumultuous world..."
