Excerpt: Chloé Pre-Fall 2025 - Lookbook

"...Yes, that stability over change, those wayward 1990s entrepreneurism desires, which have all but faded in exchange for structure.  Be it, 1950s style suburbia ala mortgages and DVD players, and now Netflix.  Yes, one has to be cynical of this precoated, prefabricated mess that surrounds.  So, give us some counterculture honesty.  Give us, bohemian chic, the carefree gypsia, the whimsical feminine who is doing her thing, cause' I'm unplugging my nervous system from your 9 to 5 stimulation overload, and I'll somatic ritual in private.  Thank you very much.

Kamali's evocation of the eros trend is evident with her Pre-Fall 2025 lookbook, but as we all know (or do we?) that the 1970s revved up hedonism like no tomorrow (yes, when cold wars, were 'cold wars'), where the exploitive porn markets were small time, and sex was happening without the visual overload, the emphasis?  Women enjoying pleasure on their own terms was the deal, and it was real.  The inversion, as stated, we all truly miss.  And as we view Kamali's latest array of, silk, lace,  faux furs, leather, flower prints, drapey, comfortable and so feminine, think of a moment in time, albeit a resonation, of attending the 1979 Biennial exhibition, at the Whitney Museum of American Art NYC, styled in Chloé attire, meeting your lover who, inhaling his cologne scent of leather, bergamot and aromatic sage, gently holds you close.  And you feel calm, serene and contented.  Then later, after having glorious sex, you fall asleep, and dream."
