From the Chiasmus Archive: "Rick Owens women’s Fall – MASTODON. Paris Fashion week 2016" (March 7th, 2016)

Once again using the dead cities and it’s apparitions as a backdrop theme.  Described, in my observation, with the men’s collection for 2016 Paris Fashion week.  There is such an intricate thought out process and very original by Rick Owens to create a motif that makes the viewer think.  Which in turn sells.  Very important.  Obscurity is always forever.  But this doom should be seen in a positive slant and acceptance of an end and maybe a beginning.  A strong and defiant collection, surreal in it’s display, yet challenging the perception of reality within reality.  Pushing through beyond the idealism of structure/design and remodeling it within the rubble, the destruction of what we have known is not to be feared, but to be embraced.   Inspiring.
