Some economists argue that rates should be over six percent to combat the highest inflation figures in over forty years, pointing too an institutionalized market which is still addicted to easy money...” Elva looks at the financial report on the Internet, staring at the blond, neatly dressed newsreader of the business news feed, who pauses in mid sentence, looking back at Elva. “...This is our greed and we're all in on it...The day of reckoning will soon be here...Nothing we can do about it. We all had it coming,” She says with a smile, as Elva calmingly looks over the commentary of the news report.
“Samantha Tyson, a business reporter for Koldberg News, had a nervous breakdown on a live-to-air market report last night, reading off cue with bizarre comments. The network has cited working pressures and relationship problems as the reason for her actions on air, she has since taken leave to seek medical treatment. Anyone with mental health issues should contact Lifespace.com for further information.”
Elva, looks over another report, showing warships and military helicopters.
“Russia, continues its offensive in Ukraine, aligning nuclear capable missile systems within its ally Belarus and along the Russian Finnish boarder, the death toll for the ongoing war stands at over thirty five thousand civilians since Russian began their invasion earlier this year. U.S. Department of Defense have issued a warning that Russia will once again try and influence elections later in the year, with misinformation and cyber attacks on social media platforms and news sites...”
She turns her attention to the fading twilight. Closing the lap top, Elva checks her reflection in the wardrobe mirror, satisfied with her appearance, dressed in a large hooded dark gray top with a dark purple pattern silk scarf wrapped around her shoulders, ensuring that her gray slouch pants with hiking style boots match, she lifts out three incenses, two sandy colored, one black, from a large ceremonial vase with two smaller ones either side, with a single cloaked figure with its back turned to her, facing the direction of the vases, she stares down at the three objects including the clay figure sitting in its opposite position, lifting a box of matches from a kitchen draw, she leaves her apartment.
