Oil passes through its $80 and $81.50 price resistance, now supports (red horizontal lines), as it tops a year-to-date high, bid over $82.
And this is all about geopolitical, as Ukraine's forces launch drone attacks on Russia's oil refineries. 12 in total since the Russian invasion in 2022. Mostly with long range, domestically developed Ukrainian drones.
- Slavyansk refinery in Krasnodar (Russia) oil refinery, 70km (45 miles) north of the regional capital, hit overnight by Ukrainian drones.
- Strategic importance. Krasnodar, produces 4.5 million metric tons of crude a year. Fuel for Russian exports to Indian and Asian markets.
Next price resistance for oil is $84 and then $90.
