The 'AI' hyperbole and its charmed surreality.

(Beleths Sky Cult "She Came". A.Glass 2023)

I am not a fan of so called artificial intelligence, because it's not.  It is however, no more or less a learning program that is solely reliant on human input.  So, we're a little premature in calling these database systems as self aware.  And it is the chatbots that set the hyperbole standard, with their confused and repetitive dialogue.  Yes, the spelling is on the money, grammatically not too bad.  But, humourless in its arrogance (without awareness) and bemusing in its apologies, when it does indeed make mistakes.  To which the human being has to be point out the error.

What I do like about this 'AI' hype is its absurdity mixed with large dashes of surreality.  Particularly the art programs.  That, when tweaked by the human user, are truly chaos engines, without the intention.

Hence the above image above that I adore, which I created with one of these AI art programs.  The backstory to the image can be read via this link: chiasmusmagazine.blogspot.com/2023/06/ai-image-test-update-4-beleths-sky-cult.html
