“...But, I can believe it...” She briefly thinks back to the attack on her a month ago, where she put the assailant in intensive care. “...The city, it's getting more violent.” 
“Yeah, bad ole' days again. I came across from New Jersey with my family in eighty five, kinda remember what my parents would tell me...” Liana replies referring to New York City crime rate of the early and mid nineteen eighties.  “...Were you born in the city?” Liana asks, as she prepares the teas. Kalas stares at a framed image of two elderly people standing outside the porch of a house. “Yes, I was.” 
“Peppermint or Chamomile?” Liana asks, holding two ceramic mugs. 
“You choose?” Kalas replies smiling, as she removes her face mask. 
“Peppermint,” Liana says also smiling, handing the cup to Kalas. She then sits down opposite her
