The XBB variant maybe the next 'COVID' wave. No walk in the park, having personally caught the new mutation at the tail end on 2022. Australia is in for another surge after its winter Omicron infections.
Having missed the Delta and Omicron waves, albeit I may have had very mild symptoms, with governments throwing in the towel with that pitiful living with the virus mantra (are we going to live with inflation too?). I caught the XBB variant, after 4 shots vaccinated, this was brutal, three nights of fever and about 10 days to a fully recovery, with the virus abating on the ninth day. I did not lose my sense of smell or taste and DID NOT have a severe cough or congestion. This could be attributed to the vaccinations, but, as mention the fever was intense. It felt nothing like the flu, way more sharper in its impact. My body after the fever felt hammered, nervous system i.e neurologically took a hit. My thoughts are that the virus, although it can effect people differently, could be muting with symptoms that do not align with the original strain/s. In other words, the severe illness could be more cardiovascular and neurological rather than respiratory.

The so called 'experts' are guessing on this, but, if you have had max vaccinations and still get beaten down by the XBB. That is concerning.
To reiterate, I've had it.
