Nellie Partow has delivered a very defined and purposeful collection for her Spring 2020 showing, mix and match with recycled styles maybe the trend for the coming year, but fine tailoring and couture inspired styles will never go, they're eternal.  So, Partow has offered for New York Fashion Week a refreshing step back to view skill and discipline in honing the craft of fashion design.  These styles, even though Partow has aimed that at the late 30's and early 40's well heeled female buyer.  The younger generation interested in fashion, should also be studying the contoured and well fitted aesthetics, not to be overlooked as a mature style and/or trend.  But a sophisticated look that remains poignant within time, that at some point when maturity hits like a freight train, beyond the physicality.  We look at the ages, history, techniques within the rise and fall of everything.  Yet, style that is complete in its presentational and reliant on a memory of past exuberance – which at the end of the day reminds everyone, that time as a progression of life is brutal in its awakening.  What remains in its wake is the hallmark, which takes patience, skill and discipline.

Masters like Yohji Yamamoto and Haider Ackerman, knew that they could bespoke menswear collections and create a women's versions of fine male tailoring, to which Patrow has, since her first collection in 2015, also set the template for men's suiting and tailored styles fitted onto the female form.  The collection is small, but stays within Partow's exclusivity, with several of her clients are online clothing stores now stocking her collections.  The selective styles are clearly a sale point, which makes sense as the quality overstates the quantity.  Beautifully cut styles, that appeal to a more fitted selection with less draped ensembles, mostly fine wools, with viscose and silks blends.  The color palette remains conservative, with browns, creams, grays and achromatic.  There is a experimental dabble in fuchsia (seen on the blazer and wide legged pants), color, even though it might deviate away from the mature women corporate look – works, particular if the designer would like younger women to study the tailored aspects of fashion.
