One of the most talented designers from America in the last 20 years is Vera Wang, she hasn't had a runway show in over 2 years, allowing her Spring 2019 Ready-to-Wear collection to mark her return to the runway.  To which she has not disappointed.  It is refreshing with a needed expression of sensuality returning to runway shows, particularly New York Fashion weeks, that, without overly being critical have relied, of the past few years, on sloganeering and catch cries that maybe all but a querulous noise, will fade from its polarized viewpoints.  That beyond its tedious palaver, has taken creativity for granted.  Fashion design is about skill, not as an overt spectacle.  For its art, let ambiguity reign, as it holds so much more relevance for the designer and more importantly; the viewer.

Wang's Spring 2019 collection is flawless, intimately in represents the seductiveness of lingerie, worn as overlays and inlays. Sexuality, particularly the feminine, does not have to direct or blunt, its power is in the subtle and defined possibilities of a tryst.  It builds into a passion, in which Wang has instilled an eroticism as the themed resonance with her latest collection.  Allowing it to move in a wraith like way, which I feel adds to the Stygian appeal.  Despite its dark overtones, it also offers a softness, enveloped in a serene and contented pose.  Wang's weaved lace and pattern work is of a couture standard, she is just so gifted as a designer.  It is precision fitted and styled, to her credit that she has checked over each of the pieces, positioning the array to be crafted in a sultry delineation – ensuring that it flows within the delicate, whilst portraying an urgency.  Beautifully poised on the runway.

Layered as stripped back styles, silk slip dresses, lace and high hemmed skirts, hanging garters.  Intermixed with long Gothic dresses, contoured, sheer and all seductively cued.  The are moments of glitter in its evocation, but once again, this is attuned as a evening stylization, not everyday wear.  Set within the darkened allure of a small club, cocktails and intimacy.  Fashion design is about possibilities, it becomes diluted when it's aimed at the generalist. It needs to be necessarily selective, which in turn holds the appeal of individuality.
Vera Wang has returned with an absolutely divine collection.
