Screenshots from the late Hisashi Sakaguchi (d1995) graphic novel of the maverick Japanese Zen monk Ikkyū Sōjun (休宗純).  Which was written and drawn in the 1996 and then released in English in 2009.  The above pages and panels depict, albit fictionally, although possibly somewhat accurate, Ikkyū being granted a seal of Enlightenment by his Master.
